Erin is a Southeast-based writer and communicator whose career has been driven by a central passion for translating complex, high-impact science for diverse audiences.
Erin lives and works in Charleston, South Carolina, where she led strategic communications and media relations for the S.C. Department of Natural Resources Marine Division for over ten years. She specializes in ecology, the environment, and conservation but has also reported on the physical sciences and medicine.
Erin has reported, written, and produced for outlets including Charleston Magazine, Bird Note, The Scientist, Living on Earth, and Technology Review. She previously worked to develop science communication content and social media for the Audubon Society, Duke University, the University of North Carolina Environmental Finance Center, and the Sierra Club.
Erin holds a B.A./B.S. in English and ecology from the University of South Carolina and a M.S. in science writing from the Masschusetts Institute of Technology.
